I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God's love, and to know Christ's love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:17-19
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Isaiah 52:7

OUR NEXT BIBLE STUDY:

JESUS IN ME
by Anne Graham Lotz
COMING SOON in October 2022
Tuesday's in person at Westland Baptist Church at 10am or at 6:30pm Tuesday Evenings via Zoom

In Jesus in Me, Anne Graham Lotz draws on her rich biblical knowledge as well as her personal journey--including her recent cancer diagnosis--to help us understand that the Holy Spirit is not a magic genie, a flame of fire, or a vague feeling. He is a Person who prays for us, guides us in our relationships and decisions, comforts us in pain, and stays by our side at all times. In this seminal teaching, she explores seven key aspects of the Holy Spirit that will revolutionize how you understand and relate to this vital third Person in the Trinity.
As Anne writes, One of my deepest, richest joys has been discovering by experience who the Holy Spirit is in every step of my life's journey. Each name that He has been given--Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby--reveals another aspect of His beautiful character and has provoked in me a deep love for the One who is my constant Companion . . . Jesus in me.
Discover how to better love and rely on the person of the Holy Spirit--and embrace how much He loves you through His presence, power, and provision in our daily lives.

HOSPITALITY OUTREACH

Our wonderful Westland family has been faithful in volunteering to provide a meal once a month for the homeless of our area that are being ministered to through Hope Impacts. In June we are providing Lasagne with all the sides and dessert which feed approximately 40 individuals. For the month of August, we will host another luncheon at the Hope Impacts offices to feed the homeless. If you would like to participate in helping to provide a portion of this meal, please click on the link and sign up through SignUpGenius.

New Threadsup ministry

I am so excited to invite you into a new ministry here at Westland! We are calling it Threadsup and the good news is you don't have to be a crafter to participate as there are other ways to volunteer for this outreach ministry.
We will have a quarterly project throughout the year that will meet a need of various specific groups in our community. We will meet once a quarter, in person, beginning on February 17th at 10am. This meeting will allow us to explain the first project and how to accomplish it for the quarter. At the end of the quarter we will collect the items made and distribute them to the charity for that quarter.
Again, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE CRAFTY! If you don't sew, knit or crochet, you could help provide the supplies that others will need to create the project. You could help cut out the patterns for the sewing projects for those who sew but might be handicapped in the cutting out of patterns. You can even tie the knots on fleece blankets if you want to participate but don't think your skill set would enable sewing, knitting or crochet of items. If you know of anyone else that may want to help create the project for each quarter, you can invite them to participate.
We will provide the sewing patterns where needed. Otherwise you can utilize whichever technique you are comfortable with to achieve the finished project.
First Quarter:     Baby Quilts and caps
Second Quarter:  Pillowcase Drawstring Bags
Third Quarter:    Lap Quilts
Fourth Quarter:  Adult Bibs (Male and Female versions)
If you would like to provide yarn, fabric, fleece, or patterns for any of these projects, please drop them by the church office at your convenience.
If you would like to learn how, receive thread/fabric donations to construct the project, get direction and vision for the project, please join the quarterly meeting on the specified date. Reminder emails for this key in person meeting will be sent out prior to the beginning of each quarter.
Our first meeting is in person, February 17th at 10am at Westland in the garage. The first projects can then be completed in your own time and turned in by March 30th, 2022. We can accommodate persons who are unable to meet in person. Email me at the link below to have your questions answered.
